Subaru remains the only manufacturer with IIHS top safety pick for all models

- Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. (FHI), the manufacturer of Subaru automobiles, today announced that Subaru of America, Inc.* released for the second consecutive year it has been recognized as the only automotive manufacturer with a 2011 TOP SAFETY PICK winner in every vehicle class in which it competes by the Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS).
IIHS provides to consumers safety information about vehicles with four-level rating system. Front the previous 2010 assessment, for the first time, good performance in the roof strength to measure protection in a rollover is required to win. TOP SAFETY PICK recognizes vehicles that, in IIHS
testing, does the best job of protecting people in front, side, rear and now rollover crashes based on
“good” ratings, which denotes “good” as the top ranking status possible in Institute tests. Its frontal
crashworthiness evaluations are based on results of 40 mph frontal offset crash tests. Side evaluations are based on performance in a crash test in which the side of a vehicle is struck by a barrier moving at 31 mph. The effectiveness of the head restraints is evaluated in the rear crash protection. Winners also must have standard electronic stability control (VDC** for Subaru vehicles).

“We know our customers take their safety very seriously and so we are very
pleased that IIHS has recognized us again as the only manufacturer with a TOP SAFETY PICK winner for
all its models,” said Tom Doll, executive vice president and COO, Subaru of America, Inc. “This is
an outstanding success and a tribute to the engineering that goes into Subaru products. The IIHS reinforces
to our customers that Subaru maintains the highest standards to produce vehicles that are s fun-to-drive,
durable, reliable as well as safe.” Subaru will further enhance its renowned excellent safety performance by
refining distinctive technologies and continue providing confidence with driving and peace of mind to our
customers.

Subaru Cars and Jeep hit the Top Safety Picks!

Last week the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety released its list of the 2011 models that earned top marks in its safety tests. In all, the IIHS named 66 vehicles Top Safety Picks, including 40 cars, 25 SUVs and a minivan. That number is up considerably from last year's list, which was smaller than usual because of tougher IIHS test criteria, including a more stringent standard for crashworthiness in a rollover:
At the beginning of the 2010 model year, only 27 vehicles qualified for the award, but the number grew to 58 as auto manufacturers reworked existing designs and introduced new models. Now another 10 vehicles join the winners' list for 2011. Two discontinued models drop off.
"In just a year, automakers have more than doubled the number of vehicles that meet the criteria for Top Safety Pick," says Adrian Lund, the Institute's president. "That gives consumers shopping for a safer new car or SUV -- from economy to luxury models -- plenty of choices to consider in most dealer showrooms. In fact, every major automaker has at least one winning model this year."
The two automakers with the most qualifying models were Volkswagen and Hyundai, each of whom had nine Top Safety Picks.
But they were far from the only standouts. In fact, the number of qualifying models more than doubling between the 2010 and 2011 model year is a testament to the vibrancy of the global automotive industry, which has shown a remarkable capacity to adapt to some really difficult challenges within one or two model years on a pretty consistent basis.
That's in part, why I think high fuel economy standards are such a no-brainer -- the expertise and ingenuity within the industry are such that even the toughest mileage standards have little chance of getting between auto companies and their profits, thanks to the efforts of thousands of brilliant automotive engineers worldwide.
Another thing that stands out is the number of really affordable cars that got the nod. It wasn't so long ago that if you wanted a car that was really safe, you'd need to shop in the luxury car class. Now, entry-level cars like the Ford Fiesta and the Chevrolet Cruze are among the safest sold.

Best Resale Value Rankings for 2011 Cars Subaru Tops Toyota!

When you’re shopping for a new car, it’s hard to think about selling it someday. But it makes sense. One of the first thing many car shoppers look for is: Will this car have good resale value? A  pair of car-valuation specialists ranked 2011 models according to their resale value.
Kelley Blue Book and its web site kbb.com , known for used-car valuations, projected future market value of 2011 cars after five years. Automotive Lease Guide (ALG) projected residual values at the end of a typical three-year lease.
Subaru topped both lists as the mainstream brand with the best resale value, edging out Honda — a brand long known to hold its value well. “The sustained high quality of Subaru’s products as well as its consistent message about the benefits of all-wheel drive” have contributed to loyal customers and high resale value, says Raj Sundaram, senior vice president of ALG.
From Kelley Blue Book:
For many, Subaru is synonymous with all-wheel drive. A smaller group instantly equates the automaker with rally racing and performance. And for a surprising number of people we talk with, any mention of Subaru still conjures the iconic BRAT introduced in the late seventies. Very few, though, associate the automaker with excellent resale value. But this year Subaru tops Honda, Toyota and other usual suspects as our 2011 Best Resale Value Award recipient for best brand. How so? A styling renaissance is putting the vehicles on more shoppers' radars, and what they're discovering are cars and crossovers that are just plain nicer and better-built than they've long thought. Subaru and its symmetrical all-wheel drive are still extra popular in the white and wet parts of the country, but the secret is slipping out and more people are taking notice of a gem they may have overlooked since the BRAT went bye-bye in 1987.

2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Named '2011 Urban Truck of the Year'

•All-new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee sets the standard for premium SUVs and is awarded "2011 Urban Truck of the Year"
•Award is latest in growing list of accolades for 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee

•Grand Cherokee hits the sweet spot of real-world capability and on-road refinement

Editors of Decisive Auto magazine and a panel of 15 independent automotive journalists have chosen the all-new 2011 Jeep® Grand Cherokee as Decisive Media's "Urban Truck of the Year."

"While faithfully capturing the spirit of its predecessor, the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee is new and improved in every way," said Lyndon Bell, Editor-in-chief – Decisive Auto magazine. "The Jeep's over-the-road dynamics easily rivals that of its competitors' less capable crossover vehicles. Meanwhile, the Jeep is also perfectly proficient at traversing any terrain. Luxurious interior appointments – along with the fact that drivers aren't penalized into accepting a lower trim level if they opt for the more fuel-efficient engine – speaks volumes to the way Jeep's engineers and product planners incorporated 21st century realities into America's most iconic SUV."

Before choosing Jeep's new premium SUV, the Urban Vehicle judging panel spent several months driving dozens of vehicles in a variety of North American urban settings. Consideration focused on several categories, including styling, practicality and attainability attributes of each vehicle.

"The 'Urban Truck of the Year' award reinforces the all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee's broad appeal," said Mike Manley, President and CEO – Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. "Jeep is pleased that this panel of influential journalists has recognized that the new Grand Cherokee delivers the perfect blend of on-road refinement, superb craftsmanship, world-class design, improved fuel economy, innovative features, and legendary real-world capability."

The Urban Vehicles of the Year will be formally presented at the 15th Annual Urban Wheel Awards on January 9, 2011, leading into the North American International Auto Show activities.

The "Urban Truck of the Year" is the latest in a list of awards the all-new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee has recently captured. Other accolades include:

•Consumers Digest "Best Buy"

•Popular Mechanics Automotive Excellence Award for Off-Road Ability

•Texas Auto Writers Association "SUV of Texas"

•Texas Auto Writers Association "Full-size SUV of Texas"

•Ruedas ESPN "Best SUV"

•Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) Top Safety Pick

World Jeep planning big "Game Day" to celebrate Black Ops Wrangler

Jeep has some of the coolest ideas when it comes to specialty vehicles. This year for the release of the hit game "Call of duty: Black Ops", Jeep unveiled a Black Ops style Wrangler. A writeup on that CoD wrangler can be found in our previous blog post here.

Well the CoD Wrangler has landed and it is sweet. To further build the bridge between video games and Jeeps World Jeep Subaru is planning to host a "Game Day". Thanks to the Game Truck (http://www.gametruckparty.com/) we are able to have a fully functional video game party right on our lot! The date has been set for December 18th and customers who purchase cars that day will be offered a gift certificate towards their very own game truck party!

In meeting with the Game Truck a young man was showing off the wares by playing the new CoD game on Xbox. The graphics were intense, only to be upstaged by the gameplay. We didn't get a chance to see the Jeep in game, but it was determined that automobiles had an important role in the game. Considering Jeep's military heritage it's not hard to see why CoD wanted the Wrangler as it's star vehicle.

Pet Awareness Event

World Volkswagen and World Jeep Subaru have teamed up with the NJSPCA to host the most
pet-friendly events of the year in Monmouth County! They will host on site pet adoptions, pet ID tagging, and more!
Pet ID tagging is the easiest way of ensuring your pet’s safe return. If your pet runs away or is somehow lost the tag is the go-to for people to get that pet back where it belongs.  Without proper tagging the animals have a much lower chance of being returned to their rightful owners.   While ID tagging is very quick and easy to do it is often overlooked.  It’s not every day a person’s pet runs away or gets lost, so pet owners don’t think about the repercussions of improper ID tagging.Pet adoptions will be made possible through the Associated Humane Society on Shafto Road in Tinton Falls.  The AHS, founded in 1906, is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey.   The Society prides itself on their devotion to the thousands of animals they care for
annually and the chance for a better life they offer them.  By hosting on-site pet adoptions World Volkswagen and World Jeep Subaru are hoping to find some of these great animals the loving homes they deserve.

These events would not be possible without the help of the good people at the NJSPCA.
The NJSPCA was created in 1868 and is the second oldest SPCA in the country.  Agents were established as Law Enforcement Officers in charge of
investigating and prosecuting all persons involved in animal abuse and neglect.
In addition, today, they are committed to educating the public on responsible pet ownership.  It is a great honor to have uniformed NJSPCA officers on premises answering questions and providing information. World Volkswagen will host it’s Pet Awareness Event on Saturday, November 13th, from 9am to 6pm. World Jeep Subaru will host it’s event the following  Saturday, November 20th, from 9am to 6pm.

2011 Subaru Outback's state-of-the-art RCD mirror!

Rear Camera Display technology is a hit with anyone who has ever needed to back up their vehicle, especially in tight quarters such as a parking lot. Subaru is now offering a Rear Camera Display option on the 2011 Outback. Not just any Rear Camera Display, we're talking state of the art RCD that displays on your rear-view mirror!

The RCD mirror is also equipped with a compass that utilizes proprietary Z-Nav® technology, a highly-accurate sensor that determines the vehicle's directional heading, and universal garage door opener as part of the popular Power Moonroof Package. Vehicles equipped with a navigation system feature the RCD mirror with compass and garage door opener.

The RCD Mirror contains a liquid crystal display (LCD) that works with a video camera mounted at the rear of the vehicle to provide a view directly behind the vehicle while backing up. When the vehicle is shifted into "reverse," a display appears automatically through the auto-dimming mirror's reflective surface. The display disappears when the vehicle is shifted into any other gear, a capability that is made possible utilizing "transflective" coating and lighting techniques, which result in a bright, high-resolution color image.

This is the second time Subaru has offered teh RCD mirror display, the first being in the 2010 Subaru Tribeca. Not a key feature, but given it's widespread acceptance as "awesome" by drivers accross the board, Subaru decided to grant this option to its popular Outback model for 2011. Gentex, the company behind the RCD technology is pleased with Subaru's decision and looks forward to providing automotive safety technology advances for the future.

First look at new Call of Duty Jeep

A few weeks ago Jeep mentioned it would be coming out with a new Jeep Wrangler celebrating the new Call of Duty: Black Ops game. We've got just a peek, but it sums up the details that differentiate the Call of Duty Jeep from its trimfolk. The CoD trim will be available on 2 and 4 door Rubicon Wranglers. All Wrangler, Rubicon and Trail Rated badges will be swapped to CoD badges, providing that authentic CoD look. Mopar is in on the action with black tail lamp guards and black fuel filler door. All this topped off with a matte black hood decal!

The pictures here don't really do it justice, we'll have to wait and see what it looks like when one lands at our dealership! Remember, you can get one in any color, as long as it's black!

2011 Grand Cherokee a Motor Trend SUV of the year contender!

For 2011, Jeep's top-of-the-line trail crawler is built on an all-new platform, a version of the one beneath the Mercedes-Benz M-Class. (The Grand Cherokee version is designed for more extreme off-road use than the Mercedes.) The new SUV has the most polish of any Jeep to date, and retains its off-road chops.

The Grand Cherokee comes with either a new 3.6-liter V-6 or a 5.7-liter V-8, both with a five-speed automatic, and three four-wheel-drive systems to choose from. Selec-Terrain, which competes with Land Rover's Terrain Response, makes off-roading very easy. Push the appropriate button, and you're ready for the dirt. Add the myriad lux options available in the four trim levels, and this vehicle offers perhaps the greatest number of permutations in this year's SUOTY.

There was universal praise for the interior, where testers liked Jeep's materials choices and overall fit and finish. They noted that the cabin was clean, simple, and easy to use, and also looked elegant. Minor gripes included an unusually fat steering wheel rim section and excessive tire noise.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is the contender forcing competition to search for performance enhancement drugs. Not that it needs it, but best of luck to the Grand Cherokee in this year's SUV of the year contest!

World Jeep Subaru hosting Organ Donation Registry and Blood Drive

World Jeep Subaru will be hosting an Organ Donation Registry and Blood Drive Event. The New Jersey Sharing Network is a non-profit organ and tissue procurement agency dedicated to raising awareness about organ and tissue donation. Looking to permanently “close the gap” in New Jersey, the NJ Sharing Network is always seeking new members, but finding those members isn’t always easy. We are hosting the event to give people a chance to see the great things this organization is trying to accomplish as well as sign some new members up for the network.

In conjunction with the NJ Sharing Network, the New Jersey Blood Services will be on premises brandishing the big blood bus on our lot. Blood donations will be collected from donors willing to spare some time and a few pints.

At least two of our customers have benefited from the NJ Sharing Network as recipients of organs, and are alive today because of it. These organizations are helping to keep our community healthy; we want to help them to continue to do so. We hope through this event we can get more people involved in helping to “close the gap”. The event will be held October 22nd from 12 to 6 PM, save the date and save a life!

The 2011 Jeep Wrangler changes inside and out

Jeep has kept the formula for the Jeep Wrangler pretty much the same for decades: simple inside, rigged outside and unstoppable off road. It’s worked beautifully and Wrangler diehards swear by their beloved, simple, kind of uncomfortable, slightly awkward machine. Things have changed recently and folks who wanted all of the utility of the Wrangler with a hint of sophistication can rejoice.

Changes for 2011

Exterior:
Check out the Sahara’s color matched hard top – it looks like an integral part of the 2011 Wrangler, but it’s still removable. Now look at the back quarter glass – notice anything? Jeep psycho-nuts will immediately notice the larger, squared off glass that affords better outward visibility.
The entire roof has a more chiseled look and the resemblance to the back of a Mercedes Benz ‘G’ Wagon wasn’t lost on the media.
There are a few, fun bits throughout the exterior where Jeep cleverly hid some nifty, iconic bits of design. There are a few “Classic Jeep” design bits on the front windshield that are fairly easy to locate – I won’t give away the simple secrets. It’s a bit goofy to some while others nodded in satisfaction.

Interior:
Now THIS is where the changes can truly be felt. The best way to prep yourself for the new interior is to ask yourself this question, “What would make the Jeep Wrangler an easier vehicle to live with daily?” Your question will immediately be answered when you sit on the surprisingly plush/up-market, leather (yes – LEATHER) seats.
Don’t freak out – it’s optional.

BTW - Those leather seats are heated. Yup, something that’s available on economy cars is FINALLY available in one of the few vehicles people would drive through the Arctic Circle – on purpose. As your head spins in disbelief over the seating, you might totally freak when you feel the chubby, grippy steering wheel.
The hits keep coming: there’s an all new, rather plush looking dashboard and instrumentation. More storage cubbies AND nifty cargo-net/storage pockets surround the interior too. The exterior mirrors are not only electric, but heated as well.
Finally, the 2011 Jeep Wrangler can be equipped with carpet lining throughout.
I don’t think there will be an excessive weight penalty (I’m guessing no more than 50 lbs) and I don’t think there will be much of a fluctuation from the entry prices of the Wrangler. What will be noticeable is the amount of people who can consolidate their weekend Jeep and daily driver into one, more comfortable option.
Either way you look at it – Jeep was smart to FINALLY make the Wrangler comfortable

2011 Subaru Impreza WRX and WRX STI

By Damian Geddry

If you're interested in reading about an automotive appliance, you're about to scroll through the wrong article. If it's luxury and prestige you're after, click right on by, friend. And if runway styling and cutting-edge gizmos are your motivations when shopping for a new car, shop elsewhere. We're talking about Subaru here, and although they do make trusty appliances like the Impreza compact, Forester crossover, and Legacy midsize, we're not going there today.

Nope, we're going to talk about the Impreza WRX and WRX STI: tough, turbocharged little rockets that deserve your attention if you have any 91-octane fuel coursing through your veins. These bulging, snorting, slightly demonic-looking rascals are Japanese hot rods, pure and simple. And although "hot rod" is an awfully retro term for vehicles that have an almost mythical image with Gen-Y buyers, the Subaru WRX is indeed a hot rod. Doesn't matter how many video games it's stared in.
I'll let Subaru prove the point: they've taken a vehicle the size of a Honda Civic and packed it with 265 horsepower (most Civics motor around with 140 horsepower). Does an extra 125 hp. get your attention? Excellent.
Subaru then pushed the front and rear track out by an extra 1.5 inches. Do those brazen new fenders peak your interest? Good... very good. They're new for 2011 and make the base WRX look almost identical to the 305-horsepower STI model. And if the term "stiffer rear sub frame bushings" even registers in your prefrontal cortex, then Subaru's got you in their crosshairs, because now even the most basic WRX looks and feels like the pixelated Xbox fantasy that drives its image. Xbox, X Games, or ex-BMW driver, it doesn't matter: the revised 2011 WRX and WRX STI are gunning for your attention if you've got any interest in cars.
Last year's WRX looked a bit too much like the domesticated Impreza it's based on, so the new car is now the spitting image of its more maniacal STI sibling -- a vehicle that's been terrorizing international rally racing for years. And in turn, the STI has been moved up the automotive food chain with stiffer springs, bigger stabilizer bars, and suspension joints that forgo some rubber bushings for solid mechanical connections: pillow ball bushings, as they're called, although there's nothing pillowy about them (they're stiff as hell). This comes on top of the STI's already stiffer body structure, stronger engine and more sophisticated all-wheel-drive system -- which, by the way, features mechanical limited slip differentials on the front and rear axles. So while the basic 2011 WRX now looks nice-'n-nasty, it's not as hard-core as the STI. And that's a good thing.
Drive the new WRX like a commuter car and it's docile. The big 2.5-liter boxer four cylinder makes its amusing "pucka pucka pucka" engine sound while pouring torque into the full-time all-wheel-drive system. Subaru's power steering has a light, almost lazy feel, and the five-speed manual transmission pops each gear into place with a soft, rubbery nudge of the shifter. It's never quite as alert or precise as a Honda or VW, but it has its own easy, endearing character. Until you snap out of your rush-hour stupor and show the little Subie who's boss, that is. At which point the WRX gets interesting, because below 3000 rpm, and during pedestrian cornering speeds, the WRX simply feels like a competent Japanese compact with a big chip on its shoulder.
In reality, it's a competent Japanese compact with a big chip under its hood. And when the tachometer finally swings into the power zone, the turbocharger huffs and puffs and blows 14 PSI of boost into the engine -- and then you're outta' here. It's a bipolar Jekyll and Hyde routine that bounces between frustrating and fantastic. Let the engine fall below 3000 rpm and the WRX chugs along like a suburban beast of burden. But keep the shifter stirring and the turbo spinning, and the WRX is a five-passenger laugh factory. The all-wheel traction and wider new 235/45 WR17 summer tires eliminate any torque-steering, wheel-spinning shenanigans, and instead catapult the car forward in bursts of pressurized acceleration. Plug the transmission into the next gear, wait a second for the turbo to inhale, and there's another whistling whoosh of power. Hilarious.
Luckily, the ride quality isn't hilarious, and unlike too many boy-racer compacts, Subaru has left the WRX with lots of suspension compliance -- even with the stiffened rear suspension. There is no nervousness over rough pavement, no chattering chassis parts on city streets, and no spinal readjustments when you hit a pothole. The WRX stays relatively flat and stable in turns, and you can even coax the rear end into a nicely controlled slide on lift-throttle; but the main character of the suspension is compliance: not quite European levels of suppleness, but it's never brittle. And if anything, the rear springs are still rather soft.
However, if the civilized suspension and wide ratios of the five-speed transmission aren't edgy enough, there's always that industrial-strength STI to consider. Six forward gears keep turbo lag at bay, and the suspension is far more focused. Plus, the adjustable center differential and limited-slip front and rear differentials allow you to use the extra 40 horsepower and additional 46 foot-pounds of torque with a certain amount of abandon. It's a car that you can push, pull and slide around corners with almost unnerving speed and predictability. Which is why Subaru had the confidence to let us hacks run wild on an off-road rally-style dirt course. And lets just say that a 2011 Subaru WRX STI does sideways like the Bolshoi does ballet. This point was brought home again when we took another set of STIs out on a paved race course, where any normal car would have pirouetted right off the first corner at the speeds these Subaru's generate. Dial the center differential for the front-to-rear power distribution you want, and you can scrub speed with the front tires, rear tires or all four tires. Just keep the boost up and the steering wheel pointed in the right direction, 'cause that's were you're gonna end up. And fast.
So what do we have here: these rather odd-looking five-door hatchbacks, and their new-for-2011 four-door sedan counterparts? Starting at $25,500 and coming close to $40,000 for a loaded STI Limited with leather, navigation, HID headlights and 18-inch BBS wheels, they're certainly not economy cars. Same can be said for their appetite for premium unleaded fuel. And yet their slightly austere interiors and Japanese build quality say that they are useful tools. Add the cargo capacity of the five-door and the big trunk on the sedan and they're harder yet to characterize. Japanese Audis? Not quite, because the Germans can't offer this much wackiness and fun at these prices. Asian GTIs? No, because the VW doesn't have the Subaru's all-wheel drive, and the Subaru doesn't have the VW's seriousness and restraint. There's a certain karaoke comedy lacking in the Volkswagen.
No, they're sport sedans without the baggage of a premium brand. They're sports cars that aren't afraid of winter (but bring snow tires). And they're one of the last daily drivers that make you do more than just operate the turn signals and adjust the audio system. With a WRX, if you don't pay attention to it, it doesn't pay attention to you. Sounds kinda cocky, eh? But then, if you've read this far, there's a good chance these street-seeking missiles have an attitude you can relate to.

Jeep to release pickup truck as 2012 model!

Jeep CEO Mike Manley reportedly showed dealers a pickup truck that’s said to closely resemble the well-received Jeep Gladiator concept from 2005.

Industry sources have told us that production of the Jeep pickup is expected to start in the third quarter of 2011, with the pickup badged as a 2012 model. It’s said to be based on the four-door Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited platform but with a two-door regular cab configuration with extra space behind the front seats for storage.

Jeep hasn't offered a pickup for sale to consumers in North America since the 1992 Jeep Comanche ended production. It appears there is a strong enough demand for a Jeep pickup truck. Considering the rugged capability behind the Jeep name, slapping a truck bed on the back of one seems like a natural fit. As if the new 2011 Grand Cherokee wasn't buzzworthy enough, this pickup is sure to rattle the cages. Jeep - keep on trucking.

Subaru Continues Low Monthly Lease Payments Through September

Subaru has lowered the auto loan rate incentive on its Impreza sedan in September to 1.9 percent. Last month, Subaru offered 2.9 percent auto loan rates across the board. The 2.9 percent interest rate is still good on Subaru's Legacy, Outback, Forester and Tribeca.

Although Subaru says on its site that the length of the auto loan is limited, there is no down payment required.

The 2011 Subaru Impreza can be leased for $179 a month in September, which is a better deal than the 2010 version because you need $300 less at signing for the newer model.

Subaru also has lease incentives on all five of its models in September. All leases are 42 months long, except for the Legacy, which is only 36 months long. You can lease a 2010 Impreza for $179 a month with $1,478 due at signing. The 2011 Impreza is also $179 a month but you'll only need $1,178 at signing. The 2011 model is definitely a better lease deal in September.

Both the 2010 and 2011 Legacy are $199 a month with $1,899 due at singing.

The 2010 Subaru Impreza WRX is $279 a month with $1,578 at lease signing. Subaru's new 2011 Outback is $279 a month with $1,979 at lease signing. This is cheaper than leasing the older 2010 Outback at $285 a month with $1,985 due at signing.

The 2010 Forester is $229 a month with $1,929 due at lease signing. Lessees can get a 2010 Subaru Tribeca for $389 a month with $3,299 at signing.

In September, Subaru also has a college graduate program and auto loan rates as low as 2.99 percent for certified pre-owned 2005 to 2010 models.

Pro Subaru: 5 Must Know Performance Tips

So you own a Subaru and want to know how to take care of it, or maybe you would like to own a Subaru. Well in this article you will find 5 tips on prolonging the life of your Subaru and improve overall performance.

A Subaru is like any other car, (although true Subaru enthusiasts will say the opposite), and certain maintenance routines must be availed of to keep that baby ticking over. You want all your horses racing strong, but if you find that your Subaru is running sluggish or isn’t performing as it should keep the following in mind as a checklist:

Fuel Lines: Insulate Them

Subaru cars, like any other cars, reach higher levels of engine power when the temperature of the fuel entering the combustion chamber is cool. By insulating the fuel line you are permitting more fuel and air to enter the combustion chamber. The easiest method of doing this is by using air conditioning or refrigerator insulation available from the hardware store.

Less Weight Means More Power

It may sound obvious but many people underestimate the value of loosing weight from Subaru cars. Before you go stripping down your Subaru of vital engine parts I suggest you start in the trunk where lots of useless items get dumped in over time. By doing so you are reducing the load your Subaru is carrying around and making a small saving on fuel over a longer period of time.

Oil Change

No rocket science here, just common sense. Many Subaru owners fail to change the engine oil when it’s due and cause unnecessary engine wear. Ideally the oil should be changed in Subaru cars every 4,000 to 7,500 miles depending on how heavy your foot is on that pedal.

Air Filter Spotless

Okay maybe not spotless but reasonably clean. Take the air filter out whenever you look under the bonnet and clean out any dust or other foreign bodies that may have accumulated in the air filter. Ideally an air hose should be used when cleaning the air filter in Subaru cars.

Get That Gap Right

What am I talking about here? Spark plugs. Make sure the gap in the spark plugs is the correct spacing. This might seem like a small worry but could make a difference to the power you receive from your car. For the correct spacing just check the Subaru cars owners’ manual.

World Subaru Features Low Monthly Lease Payments in August

World Subaru is offering 2.9 percent financing on all five of its models and there is no down payment required.  Located in Tinton Falls, New Jersey, World Subaru is known in the area as a leader in new and pre-owned Subaru sales and service. The 2011 Subaru Outback can be leased for $279 a month in August, which is cheaper than the 2010 Outback's lease incentive.
Shoppers can also take advantage of lease specials on all Subaru models in August. All leases are 42 months long, except for the Legacy, which is 36 months. For less than $200 a month, the 2010 or 2011 Impreza is $179 a month with $1,478 due at signing. The 2010 or 2011 Legacy is $199 a month with $1,899 due at singing.
The 2010 Subaru Impreza WRX can be leased for $279 a month with $1,578 at lease signing. Subaru's new 2011 Outback is $279 a month with $1,979 at lease signing. This is cheaper than leasing the older 2010 Outback at $285 a month with $1,985 due at signing.
The 2010 Forester is $229 a month with $1,929 due at lease signing. Lessees can get a Subaru Tribeca for $389 a month with $3,299 at signing.
In August, Subaru also has a college graduate program and auto loan rates as low as 2.99 percent for certified pre-owned Subaru models.

World Jeep Incentives For August 2010 Include Huge Cash Back Opportunities!

During August 2010, Jeep is offering large cash back rebate incentives and a 60-day money back guarantee on every model except the Wrangler. No interest financing is available on every Jeep during August.
Jeep’s 60-day Pledge of Adventure promises buyers that if they are unsatisfied with their new Jeep SUV, they have the option to return it for a full refund within 60 days. Jeep will also pay for your monthly payments that were made during the first 60 days. The Pledge of Adventure can’t be combined with any other incentives, so if you want 0% financing or the huge cash back incentives available this month, you’ll have to decide between that or the money back guarantee.
The 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee (above) is available during August with the choice between $4,000 cash back or a no interest car loan for up to 72 months. It will be hard for buyers to buy a leftover 2010 model with the all new 2011 Grand Cherokee already on dealer lots, but with incentives this large available, it might be a smart choice.

The 2010 Jeep Commander comes with either $4,000 cash back or a 0% interest rate for 60 months during August.
Jeep Liberty models are available with the choice between $2,000 cash back or 0% financing for 60 months.
The 2010 Jeep Compass and Patriot are both available with 0% financing for 60 months or $1,500 cash back.
The Jeep Wrangler comes with a 0% financing for 36 months incentive during August.

New autobot in Transformers 3 is a JEEP!

That's right folks. There's a new autobot in town and it's a crazy hooked-up red Jeep wrangler. His name is "Rollbar" and he's from the original throttlebots subgroup of transformers. Rollbar appeared in the third season of the animated series as leader of the Throttlebots, often working in tandem with Bumblebee, although he rarely had any major roles.

As you can tell from the wheel, this isn't your average Jeep Wrangler. It's been completely tricked out front to back giving this SUV the ultimate image of bad-assery. If the completely custom rig wasn't crazy enough with its wheels, bumpers and roof, the rear-mounted machine gun kicks it up a few notches.

Sure, it's an autobot in a movie. But look closely and sure enough you'll see the Jeep logo under the autobot emblem, and it sure looks good right where it is. Wonder what it'll look like in robot form!

**EDIT**
ITS A FAKE!! Very clever ruse to get some attention on the Jeep's customizer! This vehicle *supposably* will NOT be in the latest Transformers movie, what a shame! Still an awesome rig!

Better Business Bureau Warns Of Car Scam

Posted: Jul 7, 2010 9:21 AM

The Better Business Bureau of Central & Eastern Kentucky is warning car shoppers to beware of websites offering too-good-to-be-true deals on repossessed cars.
The scam, going on nationwide, uses the names of well-known existing auto dealerships to try and fool consumers into wiring them money to pay deposits. Customers ultimately eceive no vehicle and have no way to get their money back.
"The latest scam crossing our radar in our service area uses the name Superstore Used Cars, or the website www.superautosalesus.com, and gives an address in Hazard, Kentucky," said Neil Kingery, President & CEO of the BBB of Central & Eastern Kentucky. "We have received many calls and e-mails from hopeful consumers outside of Kentucky checking out this non-existent dealer in Hazard because of the low, low prices offered for these repossessed vehicles. They tell us they were being asked to wire money via Money Gram to pay deposits."
Consumers tell the BBB they saw the advertisement for Superstore Used Cars and its Website either by searching the Internet or in small advertising publications in their areas, far away from the location the scammer fraudulently gives as its Kentucky address. The same website was also recently associated with a dealer name and address out of Louisville, but since changed to the 800 Morton Blvd., Hazard. Some customers say phone numbers they were given for the company do not work.
At last check, the website www.superautosalesus.com was gone from the Internet. However, other BBB's across the nation also report the same scam has popped up across the Internet with different domain names, so consumers should be aware of the red flags of this scam:

RED FLAGS
·The prices are too good to be true. Repossessed or no, it's not likely you will find a late model vehicle at a price well below market value on a legitimate company's website.
·The dealer only accepts payment by money wire transfer. Never wire money to anyone that you do not know well and trust completely.
·You are told to wire the money to an individual rather than the company. The scam artist explains this is in order to "avoid taxes." No legitimate auto dealer will advise you to do business in this manner.
·The dealer communicates only through on line chat or e-mail, never by phone.
"Many legitimate automobile dealers also offer their inventory on their company's Websites," Kingery said. "If you prefer to shop around online for cars, we suggest shopping with BBB Accredited Businesses who have met strict ethical standards, which includes a commitment to resolving customer disputes.
Log on to www.bluegrass.bbb.org and click on the 'Find a BBB Accredited Business' tab to search for a list of BBB Accredited automobile dealers in our 64-county service area."

Subaru sales set June record

With a vehicle manufactured in Lafayette leading the way, Subaru of America Inc. has posted a record June sales report.

The company sold 21,601 vehicles last month -- a 16 percent increase over the 18,620 units it sold in June 2009.

The top-performing Outback line -- produced at the Subaru of Indiana Automotive Inc. plant -- sold 6,554 units last month. That represents a whopping 76 percent increase over the same month in 2009.

"June was a great month for us. Our inventories are very tight and we still set a record for the month," said Tim Colbeck, senior vice president of sales at Subaru of America. "Demand for our products continues to be strong, and our retail network is working hard to sell efficiently."

According to a report released Thursday by the parent company, sales of other vehicles built at SIA show:

•The Legacy line experienced almost a 1 percent increase, from 2,984 units in June 2009 to 3,006 last month.

•The Tribeca recorded a 78 percent decline, to 175 vehicles in June after selling 784 units in the same month last year.

Among Subaru vehicles produced in Japan, June sales of the Forester model increased by 25 percent, to 7,607 last month. Sales of the Impreza line fell by 16 percent, to 4,259 units.

For the first six months of 2010, Subaru reported 125,960 units sold. That represents a 35 percent increase over the 93,306 vehicles sold during the January-June period of 2009.

Among SIA-built models, sales of the Outback soared by 117 percent, to 41,147 units; and sales of the Legacy rose by 50 percent, to 18,993.

"Now that we are halfway through 2010, the Subaru franchise is clearly on pace to establish another record-setting sales year," said Thomas Doll, executive vice president with Subaru of America. "This has been the best first six months in the history of the company, and we are proud of the contribution from all members of the Subaru team."
